What did you do with your flock today?

Wow it is almost done and looks amazing!
Thank you so much!!! I can’t wait to show you all when it’s ready for ducks. I think my husband is now ready, but I know he is trying to make sure he never has to clean up a slaughter again. Which is good cause he didn’t really understand it with the chickens. I mean he did but I think after what happened he understands a little more how easy it can be for a predator to get to them.

OMGeeze what a week yall!!!
I went from fun luvin with grandbabies to the pit of gloom and doom then back again when God answered a prayer that someone does care! Joey got injured.and he got Daisy coveredin blood, caught a possum, then caught a coon. More grandbabies and luvins and big 4 yr old helper. Then went to soak Joey's feet and he flopped and got completely soaked so that ended up being my first chicken bath n blow dry!
He was so good yall! And I'm such a ditz! Thankfully I had cleaned out the garage brooder few weeks ago in case I ever needed a hospital. But I knew with his open wound he needed clean bedding especially after a bath...so I got it all out again.
Thought I had purchased just the right thing for this crate we used to use for our Rottie before she passed away...and roll it out and nope...not at all what I needed. I have no clue what it is that's supposed to be good for pets but whatever too late now.
Threw it to the side and went to 2nd plan ...all the while Joey is standing inside the entryway at front door waiting for me....awe!
So I put a vinyl with felt backing table cloth down...doesn't cover edges but oh well I can sweep up the pine shavings.
I go out to set trap to catch another critter, get sidetracked dumping the old bedding into the garden for winter...chopped down frost bit plants, hosed down the tarp that was under his bedding after I attached it to the wrought iron fence lol.
Look over N all my babies are waiting to be tucked in with treats for the night! OMGeeze they r rotten!
Moved Lizzie over with others and said goodnight.
Come back to garage and Joey is holding his sore foot up...he hadn't been doing that a lot so I go to thinking...OMGeeze yall I'm so dumb! The crate has thick metal bars going back and forth all across the bottom and he's havin to stand on em with nothing but vinyl tablecloth and pine shavings!
So ugh...it's dark, I'm exhausted and hurting and cranky and Joey such a good boy! Even if I'm covered in sores and bruises here and there...so I slide a thick piece of cardboard underneath the tablecloth with the pine shavings and he just waits patiently talking to me with his "urs" and grunts lol!
I luv this old bootyhead!
Oh yeah almost forgot... @TropicalBabies can you see anything concerning in his poop...not even 15 minutes apart but very different.
I have been giving him Poutry Cell in his mash to see if he needs something he isn't getting...they are all on Naturwise All Flock feed...but he was on medicated chick starter longer than he should have been cuz of all the dang babies I can't quit havin!
Sounds like your extra busy! I’m glad Joey is being a good boy. Probably just doesn’t have it in him right now. It just sounds so precious with him being so behaved.

I don’t see anything in the poop myself. At least nothing obvious to me for worms. I hope it isn’t anything but I do wonder what @TropicalBabies has to say. Obviously I’m still learning.

#3...but looks like still more from the 👁 in upper pic that are there every single night! I was beginning to think there was just something shiny on the fence but 4 yr old grandson said that's a critter Gamma.. he right! I saw em "blink" tonight!

It’s good your catching them!!! Good luck with the rest of them!!

Awe...he tired himself out trying to get and took a nap! He is adorable...but not in my backyard lol
And he's huge too!!!
Aaawwww poor little thing!!! I hate that coons will kill my chickens 😭. I hated that I coon hunted as a kid, and there wasn’t anything I could do. My dad hardened me to where I could skin them but I hated it too. I had a baby one once. I named her Rascal, like the book. She was so sweet!!

That one is big!! I’m glad your able to trap them though! And at least they have a better place to go!

I let my chickens out and my cockerel “got” my brown leghorn. She squatted for him again, but she is the only one so far. The other brown leghorn isn’t having it…that one is Stitch, she is a little more mischievous. I keep checking for eggs and there isn’t any. I’m guessing that I won’t have any until the spring. That is ok, I can wait. I will keep checking though.

Oh yeah that would be awful!
Yeah DH said yesterday that one he released had to be young and said "momma" whenever he let it go...my hubby and his humor lol!
Guess they'll be reunited in an hour or so!

It's always so much more peaceful when they are willing participants lol!

Good morning and happy Sunday!
Wow! Congratulations on the raccoon! @Gammas Bearded Babies What a big beautiful and bothersome creature. Sorry you have to deal with that. I can see it being kind of emotionally taxing.
Poop looks OK to me (full disclosure, I'm no expert lol), actually impressive lol. Glad the girls are letting him eat.
If poop gets foamy or more intestinal discharge than usual, those are some of my poop clues.

Oh no @kurby22🤒☹☹ that just bites. Sorry about your baby ♡♡♡ :hugs never easy. Also, hope you did OK at the game and are on an upswing. No fun. At all.

@FBMcrazy8 looking good! Must be so exciting and hard to wait with a near finished coop but spring will be here in no time. Bravo again!!
Do you have fake eggs in the nest boxes? You are so close I can taste it 🍳🥓😋

@ChicksnMore how many more miles and how the route? Girls did well I bet ♡♡♡ take after the mom lol. Thanks for popping in and sharing some of your adventure. It looks wonderful and what a time!
