What did you do with your flock today?

Nohope perked up tonight after some vitamin B complex and E and an Amoxicillin. He ate a bunch and drank almost a cup of water. ❤️ And tonight he is patiently allowing me to pet him while I drink wine 😍

He is so beautiful. Glad to hear he's had a good evening. Long may it continue!

I'm so glad you have this time together.

Browsing through byc I saw some of your baby pictures from last year June 22? and read your post of hope about breeding etc. Such beautiful babies. Broke my heart.... the whole thing just breaks my heart 💔😥
I was thinking of all the folks who got bird flu and had their whole flocks taken from them instantly. I would be devastated. Thinking like that is one of the few reasons I closed my flock. I just want to enjoy them as they are with all of their weird antics. Never know when things will change. We have no guarantees.
I just hope the bird flu situation doesn't get as bad for you guys as it is here. There's evidence of it being transmitted to mammals that have scavenged dead, infected birds. 5 foxes and 4 otters so far. It's always been known that it's a zoonotic disease that can spread to humans as well.

Equine Fly Spray Recipe for 32oz Spray Bottle
2 Cups Apple Cider Vinegar
1 ¾ Cups (14oz) Water
1 Tbsp Dawn Dish Soap
10 Drops Citronella Essential Oil
10 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
10 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
If you just want to use one essential oil use a ½ Tbsp of your choice. Add
your ingredients to a 32 oz spray bottle and shake well.
Some people use Tea Tree essential oil using same amount mentioned
above and also a 1/4 Cup of Witch Hazel
I will definitely be making up a batch come spring! I'm always getting bitten. 2 years ago I was bitten by a European Brown recluse, year later it was a blandford fly and my hand swelled to 4 times it's normal size and every year I am eaten alive by mosquitoes. I take after my dad, he got malaria despite taking anti-malaria meds and being slathered in insect repellent.

He's precious!!!
So the fowl pox post could really be the answer to your flock rather than dreaded Mareks - right?!
If so wouldn’t this be much better overall for the flock as far as outcome goes? Am i thinking right?

I noticed some clear nares discharge when tucking them all in tonight.
Lizzy hasn't had any nares discharge but she is making like a hiccup kinda sound...she's done that off and on since she was little.
Now that I've seen several with the nares discharge and I remember the sneezing here and there I had told yall about. And Lizzy's eggs the last few she laid always were soft shelled, shell-less...and before that they were very rough and bumpy.
The more I research I'm afraid it maybe Infectious Bronchitis.
It would make sense regarding the eggs and the sneezing and the nares discharge.
What do yall think?

I was just reading an article this morning about it showing up in mink in Spain? Think it was Spain. At any rate, to summarize, they were saying this one needs watching because it's spreading through more mammals. Luckily not infecting much in the way of humans with this latest strain though. But sounds like this latest strain is harder to control.

Wish I had a clue what it is beyond thinking upper respiratory ☹️. Does it look like the Tylans working? 🤞

She's eating on her own and seemingly normal...she's making the hiccup sound but she's done that off and on always.
Tomorrow is her last day of Tylan50. She still has not laid any more eggs. And I've been giving her crushed calcium citrate plus D³ as @azygous had suggested in another thread.
The fact that others now have clear nares discharge with the off and on sneezing I'm just wondering what I should dose the whole flock with at this point.

Gemma and I played thether-cabbage!

Lizzy sounds promising ❤️

Spent some time with my birds this afternoon. Needed some positive energy and sun shine. I could sit out here with them all day!
