I did get results and it is. They're all healthy right now and no other birds have shown any illness so far. I'm worried they'll become easy targets for every germ out there or that the myco itself gets more virulent over time. From
@kurby22 experience it sounds like something like that happens.
I decided to keep the yokos and vaccinate but I'm still trying to find a time when I can do everyone's birds fast enough. And time means I'm second guessing and questioning if it's the right choice.
If I could find someone willing to take them that'd be wonderful. I also keep thinking it's a crime to make it so my dwarfs can't be bred or shared. It I keep the yokos and they have a good life then it can be worth it. If I keep the yokos and they have bouts of suffering leading up to inevitable death then I think I'm making the wrong choice.
There's a good chance that my other birds are still disease free. If I didn't have the yokos here, I could wait a bit, then test my other birds to see. If I understand correctly, once vaccinations are done all the birds will test positive so I really need to decide before I vaccinate. Either close all my flocks, vaccinate to keep them as healthy as possible, then let them die out... or lose the yokos, wait and test to see if the rest are still free from it, then vaccinate as a preventative.
I hate the thought of letting my dwarfs die out. I hate the thought of my yokos getting sicker and sicker. None of my bird buddies want the yokos now...not even the lady who gave me Manny who I suspect it might have started from. Shes had no illness so I might be wrong about Manny. House finches are everywhere here and could be the cause too.
It shouldn't be a hard decision. Just make a choice and move forward right. But dang I'm getting myself in a twist about it.
