What did you do with your flock today?

They are both simple surgery but understand your anxious

It is just me. I only cry for animals. Other than that I am stoic or cynical... not sure which lol.

I used to cry at the end of Lassie when I was a kid
Poor Lassie... waving good bye all by himself.

Yes, I just washed out our 1 carrier and will borrow aunties carrier as they probably don't want them to be together post surgery.
I think that I am not ready... I have cried every time I transfer and entrust my critters into the care of the surgeon. Always so happy to get them back.

As it should be. Get it done quick & get it out of the way. The more you do it the smarter you become & the easier things will be.

As in, doing homework in the coop with your birds? I wouldn’t either, chickens can be very distracting lol. They’d probably also poop on your homework.

Iris has been limping pretty hard, so on Sunday evening I started him on daily antibiotics.
After a few days of trying to force feed him, followed by trying different snacks to help him wash the taste out of his mouth (and almost losing some of my fingers in the process. He really likes strawberries XD), I finally found that putting it in a scrambled egg works wonders. I think I’ve been doing it twice a day for four days, and so far he’s eaten every bite, and my hands have remained intact. He’s also been pretty happy to get secret snacks.

Unfortunately, there’s been no sign of improvement so far. I think we have one more day before I have to stop the antibiotics. I thought it was just his bumble acting up again, and the antibiotics would wipe it out, but now I’m not so sure. Maybe he hurt it while jumping off somewhere? I don’t know, but it doesn’t feel broken. He’s still been eating and drinking, and occasionally mounting a girlfriend, but he’s needed a bit of help getting around. I’m hoping it’ll be nothing permanent.
