What did you do with your flock today?

The door on the coop blew shut during a downpour. They could’ve gone under, but that was too easy, apparently. I found them standing at the door :gigView attachment 2755773

Hey photos are great sorry about loosing the data bout I do understand that ..
My two brooders now get new photos the hatch I did with the thread was pphhhtttt. I have like of 5 alive 3 cockerel 2 pullet..
But have 7 banty I picked up to replace loosing all mine silkie grow slow mine are still no bigger than a minute
Thanks! It sucks, but I’m lucky it was only four months and not something like a year. I’d take losing four months of stuff over losing everything.
Look and see if your in some kind of "portrait" mode. Mine is an Android but it will do that if I'm in portrait setting instead of just photo.
I think so. I love the blur effect, I just wish there was an easy way to change small features after the picture was taken. I considered photoshopping the beak from an unblurred version on him, lol.
Setup google backup of the photos?
Yeah, I’ll definitely be backing my phone up more frequently now. I have a reminder set for every Friday afternoon.

They’re adorable! I really love the solid gray ones. It makes me miss having chicks around.

Well, I'm forced down from the mountain again. Transferring incubator chicks to the brooder and I have someone coming to pick up a few this eve.

So far 16 out of 19 have hatched and I am not unhappy with how they look at all.

Missing the coolness and smell of eucalyptus but mostly the ferrets of course. Mountain neighbors are tickled with the chooks and are happy to keep their eyes on them when I am not around and I'm even trading eggs for veggies too ;).

I let the girls out early yesterday thinking I would keep tabs on them and collect eggs after. Boy, those gals scattered in every direction and went deep into the forest. I was not even close to getting ahead of them. Stinkers <3
So, I called them all back in the run and locked them in and manage to get 7 eggs in the nest boxes. I also got 3 eggs from the roof of the shack... can't say I blame them for that.

I think they are mostly playing in the forest and I need to not panic, it beats them cooking and stressing below where I get low egg counts in the summer anyways.

Got my revamped brooder set up after I added a little height to the bottom with 2x4's and I actually am using a heat lamp for almost the first time ever- I will also have my heating pads. It gets in the 60's at night and I'll have close to 60 chicks so trying to cover all bases and will subtract heat sources as needed. 20210711_125545 (2).jpg
View on the way home. I obviously need to adjust my pixels.

Favorite view in the cabin is my little orphans. When they are not playing and terrorizing or eating they are snuggling.

The big kids are enjoying their new found freedom too. 20210707_170507~2.jpg 20210707_170640~2.jpg 20210707_170737.jpg
