Haha, yeah they are both cute and efficient! They are egg machines from 6 weeks on and we are currently drowning in eggs haha. They are way more fragile than chickens though, holy moly. That blue egg is the typical size...they generally weigh between 10-14 grams. I love the pretty blue ones, and found the hen that laid that blue egg had broken her neck somehow on Sunday and was sadly dead in her pen.

I cried. She laid such pretty eggs and was only 8 weeks old...but the blue layers seem especially fragile and prone to stress. They are the first to quit laying if you look at them funny!

New layers are sometimes capable of laying several double yolkers but I think this egg came from my oldest hen who has been laying since May!

She was my only one that laid double yolkers when first laying so I'm just assuming it was hers!

I will definitely share pics of the inside when I open it! I'm pretty curious, so it will probably be soon!
