What did you do with your flock today?

I think Iris is just the sweetest, what a good boy! He reminds me of Puff and Fluff, just so patient and sweet!

I’m impressed your boys are that big @TropicalBabies! How do you weigh them? I am not sure Eevee would sit still long enough 😆 He isn’t feeling so hot right now though, so he’s being rather patient :-( I think he’s got the full blown dry pox he doesn’t even crow cuz he’s too congested :-( he seems to be okay otherwise, so I hope he just sounds worse than he feels :-/

So today was the first full day with the baby and she’s just so great! I was on the phone for work doing interviews ALL day today and she and I spent the whole day together 😍 she’s starting to come out of her shell and play and eat and such. I got rather perplexed today cuz she squatted and peed twice on the carpet and I gave her plenty of intros to the cat box. After chatting with my mom she reminded me that she may not recognize the litter and I should see what the owner was using. So I stopped at the store and bought more litter and filled the box with the new litter and put her in and she sniffed, squatted and peed! Yay!! I was so worried! But she was just like, ummm what is this weird stuff and where is my litter box?? 🙃 The one picture I included is her after playing and she passed out while cleaning herself hehehe. She is just so sweet!! 😍😍😍
We have a hanging digital scale to weigh feed for our horses with. I weighed a small cage and then put Ivan in and weighed again. Poor Bolt and Spider I used a beach bag that was large enough to fit a few 20lb frozen turkeys and weighed them 1 at a time. I did think about trying to get a photo but was alone so wanted to stay hands on but they were both just so cute and good I probably could have ♡♡♡ sweetest little boys.

@FrankieDoodle i am so sorry you are having to deal with all this again but you sure are good at it! Lucky chickens! Hope he feels better soon ♡♡♡

I finally did weigh Ivan b4 he left and he came in at 7.4 lbs
Bolt came in @8.4lbs and
Spider surprised me and came in @ 8.2. He has been working while the other 2 have been sitting in a coop. I thought Spider would be more in the high 7's. Such a hunk ♡♡♡
Thanks! I’m hoping this’ll be the last time I have to deal with it, at least with him, but knowing my luck it won’t be. :/

Oh wow, those are some big boys!

Been busy this week trying to get ready for Christmas and keeping the kitten a secret. I am pet sitting for some ladies and so I’ve been bringing the kids with me so they are in the house as little as possible until Christmas haha. Miyuki is just a sweet girl, but also independent and a bit sassy :) She likes to “help” while I’m working and has already called a coworker friend of mine and IMd several times. She isn’t the best speller though! 😆😆 I think she’s gonna fit right in. I thought Koda would be the dog that we had to be cautious of, but it turns out the Frenchie is much more of an issue. She is a little bit crazy and keeps trying to bite at her. Miyu has so far handled it, but Chloe has gotten a lot of spray bottle water to the face the past two days!

The chickens continue to be a daily surprise of illness. Eevee my big rooster boy started sounding crackly when breathing on Monday and this morning he was in pretty rough shape :-( He sounds like he can’t breathe and seems to be gasping for air. So I brought him inside and forced him to drink some Nutridrench, slathered him in VetRx, made him eat some scrambled eggs with Greek yogurt, and the gave him Tylosin and Safeguard. Feels like overkill, but the vet isn’t open till after Christmas. I’m not sure if it’s wet pox and the lesions are in his trachea so I can’t see them—or he may have gapeworms. Poor baby. He’s generally not a sit in your lap chicken, but today he sat with me all afternoon. I was somewhat encouraged by his progress over the 8 hours though—by the time I left him at 7 he was breathing much less panicky and seemed to have calmed enough to rest. So fingers crossed. He will be getting all the same things tomorrow…hopefully he shows even more improvement. Marianne definitely has wet pox in her mouth, but seems to be okay otherwise. I’m going to treat their water with safeguard since I haven’t ever wormed and it’s likely if one has worms they all might. Talk about survival of the fittest at my house! 🥴😣😩

The happiest news is that my Mommy is coming down to see us and gets here tomorrow! So excited to see her and the kids are too! Gotta love Grandmas! 😍

I just love your chicken set up! Everything looks well constructed and roomy and clean! I’m jealous :)
Awe shucky darn! Thanks @kurby22 ♡ I gotta tell you I really like it too. It just works for me but it probably would not work for many other places/climates. Like when it rains or rains sideways... it does not work so great lol

Oh my goodness... just wow :love I am not sure how you can keep that beautiful little creature a secret. Must be soooo hard.

Your poor beautiful birds. I am so sorry. You/they are still just getting blasted. It must just be so defeating. I can not imagine, my heart just breaks for you all. Well, hang in there.... sending my good thoughts your way. ♡♡♡
