What did you do with your flock today?

I have no idea
Huge breakthrough this evening. DH and I went for a drive with the neighbors and got back about 10 minutes past time to put the flock up for the evening. So I got out of the vehicle and first thing I did was go to round up the birds and put them to "bed". But when I got out there, every single bird had already gotten into the run. Even the guineas. All I had to do was say "awesome job everyone!" and close the run door. Woohoooo!
Yes!! It’s so awesome when they all finally get it! I can’t believe how easy it is to put them to bed now. Used to spend a good 20 mins trying to get them all back in for the night…now I’ll be out with them and they’ll just start leaving me for their coops :-D it’s super cute! 😍

I got brave today and decided to allow them some supervised time in the garden part of my fenced off portion of the yard. It’s not protected by trees or bird netting and there are things to fly up on and over the fence (quail pens) but I thought they’d enjoy the adventure so I figured I’d try them out! Other than Miss Molly the naughty adventurer, they all behaved quite well and enjoyed investigating the area and eating weeds and checking out the quail. It was only for an hour but they seemed to really enjoy it :) My two favorite things were Betty White getting very upset that everyone else was out in the new space but her (she couldn’t figure out where they all went to get out in the run 😆). She was making quite the noisy ruckus and pacing back and forth, it was hilarious. She finally realized the gate was open and then all was right with the world! And the other one was seeing them react to the quail with enormous curiosity. Sort of like, “hmmm, what ARE you?!” 😍 The one quail pen all the quail ran upstairs and hid from them where there is a glass window hehe. Their little faces staring out thru the glass at the chickens thinking “OMG they’re going to eat us!” 😆

awww. I love Your chickens they are so cute.

Today I made my girls a dust bath for their chicken run they got very exited when they saw me coming but before I could put the box of dirt down three of the hens jumped in and started scratching i nearly dropped the box. They have not had a dust bath In a while and we’re very exited. I usually try and move their run to somewhere they can dust bath.

Awwww it sounds like they had a wonderful field trip. I bet to the quail, they looked enormous. But look at how tiny Puff is compared to even Betty White. He really is adorable. I'm glad they all had fun...and behaved well for you. 🥰

Thanks! They are pretty cute 🥰 It’s good that they behaved! Makes me more likely to try it again 😁 Also, I get so many giggles watching these young teenage boys try to impress the ladies 😆 The sexy dance is just so cute 😍😆
