What did you do with your flock today?

Ok. I have true confessions here. I never walk through my roos. I, like all my critters believe in shared space and coexisting though I do use pressure to move them where I want like I do our horses. Works great.
Yep, that's basically what I do too. Friendly hellos and just going about my business. But I guess what meant is that I'm not afraid of my roosters like I think some people are, so I dont purposely avoid going near them. I have conversations with all my chickens and they all follow me around like I'm the pied piper. I call them my entourage. 🤣 But the younger half of the flock (including the roosters) are still hesitant. They definitely know who brings food though. One of my EE pullets is really curious and far braver with me than the rest of the young ones. She's always watching me with that sideways head tilt. It's very cute. With the roosters, they each seem to have "their" ladies...so far. And they all call them for food and refuse to go into the enclosure in the evening until their group of ladies is inside. That's what I want from them, so I really hope the peaceful dynamic lasts. With 30 hens/pullets between 4 roos, I think it stands a chance at least.

Oh, I was getting all caught up in chicken math and mystery breeds.
This is very interesting that you can buy 2 beautiful broodies & get them shipped with eggs. I am supper curious ♡♡♡
Ok. But see if she will tell you potential chicks for fun ♡♡♡♡
I'm totally into this and living vicariously through you now.

K. So... what kind of roos does she have and what kind of hens? This could be very exciting if you choose to let them... do you have an incubator?
Nope no incubator.

She did say there were several roos out with them. I'll see if I can find out which, but she only sells 10 breeds: Ameraucana, Barred Plymouth Rock, Black Astralorp, Black Star, Buff Orpington, Delaware, Red Star, Rhode Island Red, Silver Laced Wyandotte, and White Leghorns.

Another more pressing issue though is that I just got a text update from USPS. The delivery isnt scheduled to arrive until Saturday end of day. This overnight just turned into 4 full days. And if they dont arrive Saturday, it'll be Monday. I dont see how these birds can survive even until Saturday. I'm so upset. I emailed the seller, but that was at 6am when I got the text update. Post Office isnt open yet and when you call USPS all you get are robots. So I don't know what to do. 😭

Spoke with the local post office and they said the label they got from the seller was incorrect. Live birds MUST be shipped Express, but the tracking number I got is for a Priority package. I've contacted the seller, but it's still early for her. I'm so upset. If these birds die, I'll just be beside myself. 😭

UPDATE two hours later: got another text saying the package has arrived in Little Rock. So there's hope they'll arrive tomorrow morning.

Oh man, what a stressful situation!! I too would be a wreck 😢 Hopefully it is just a typical mix up in their communications and not in the actual shipping. Ugh, stuff like this is so horrible—all you can do is sit and wait and spend the day worried sick about them. I’m so sorry 😢 Keep us posted!! ❤️

I think my husband may be over wanting roosters! This is my Christmas present from him!
