I hope to get more soon.Hi @Cluckme . It has been awhile since you had to rehome your flock now yes? I can't remember the specifics on the why's. Do you think you will be getting any soon?

About 20 minutes ago I got another notification that the package is in Batesville. That's the last stop before arriving in our town's post office. But I highly doubt they'll arrive before tomorrow morning. It's just odd that when I called this morning, the postal clerk said that his system showed that the package hadn't even been received yet (just the label). But by that point, the birds were already about to arrive in Little Rock. When I lived abroad, there was a saying they had "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing"... and I feel like that with the postal service sometimes. In any case, I'm hoping and praying the ladies arrive tomorrow morning without too much trauma from the long travel. And yes....I really hope they dont eat their eggs. That might be a difficult thing to break once it starts.Did the seller leave some food in there for them? Water?!! Where are they coming from?
Well, they can't be completely enclosed so maybe some kind person will take pity on them. Wondering if they will eat their eggs in an emergency situation.
I am always blown away when people are not hypervigilant with live critters.
Well, I am really, really sorry that this is not as smooth as it could have been. Wondering if flight cancelations and delay caused by weather and covid are playing a part.
I'll be keeping your new babies in my good thoughts and hoping they find a window to get to you asap ♡♡

UPDATE again: just got a call from a very conscientious lady at the Batesville post office saying I could come there to pick them up today if I want instead of waiting until tomorrow morning. I'm waiting for DH to get home in about half an hour and then I'll go get them. It's an hour drive there so likely another 3 hours before I get them back here, but hopefully I'll be back before my boss sends me more work (working remotely).![]()
Hahaha here you go!Now I need a photo
Actually, not really. I think emergency survival instincts (and I was just wondering) and fat and happy days are def 2 different things. My chickens will mop any broken egg they can but don't go out of their way to break eggs. That might be a difficult thing to break once it starts.
What a good husband!Hahaha here you go!![]()

So I did pick up 2 brass chicken apron hooks for our outdoor shower. Would not let me copy photo. Love the brass hooks over here and my DH seems to fill them up with hats, pants, shirts, ropes, halters...that way I don't have to bend over when picking up after him lol
