Littles out all afternoon. Sand-bathing, hopping, chasing. Basically being weird. Good fun.

Big chickens being awesome. More new layers- always fun!
Chores around the house. Weather I warm but with a nice breeze.

Been quiet on here this weekend! Can tell it’s Spring! I’ve been busy with family stuff mostly…but I did get my three new ladies on Wednesday and today, and they’re all sweet and wonderful The Polish babies are happily growing like weeds, and Betty and Fuzzy are being super mommas

The outside chickens were neglected this weekend with all the other stuff going on, but as long as they get their daily treat they are happy Saturday was almost entirely spent at a baseball field and it was hot and I was very tired! And today I have been cleaning bird cages and feeding and watering them all.

Anyway, here are my newest additions!

They sell stinging nettle at our farmers market. I can’t believe people actually eat that. I can’t even touch it.

If you cook it, even a little - blanch it even - it neutralizes the stinging hairs and it is very yummy. High in Vitamin C and iron. It's a yummy spring green.

I sat in my car for 4.5 hrs waiting on my Esther to have her crop emptied by a vet. We were a last minute addition to their surgery schedule so put at the end of the scheduled ones Funny how tired I am even though I sat all day But she is better!

I think I will be doing this on Thursday for my Blue Copper Marans I’ve been treating for almost a month and it’s not getting better
