What did you do with your flock today?

As far as the rest of my flock goes, they’ve been doing pretty good. This’ll be Iris’ third night outside since surgury, I’m still soaking and doing bandage changes, and today I got some more debris out. He just turned four yesterday.
Cher laid her first egg today!

Bert finally got a turn on the nest. Egg sat with her for a while, making sure she knew how to take care of them. XD

Bert has accepted my presence. She let me pet her and the babies, and are out of my hand when I offered food to her. Egg only ate out of my hand when he saw Bert doing it and realized it was safe.
I also got a video of her feeding Frittata.

I had three birds in the quarantine coop with it, and it took me about a week of painting permethrin on their faces and picking them off. They came back about a week later once the eggs hatched, but that only took me a few days to fully treat and I haven’t gotten them since.
I can’t remember if I did anything to the coop. I think I hosed it down and sprayed with more permethrin?

I’m glad none of your other birds have it! Hopefully it’ll stay that way.

Thank you!! Bert and Egg have been the best parents so far. I was a little worried they’d have issues, with this being their first time and all, but they proved me wrong.

Yeah, I know I certainly didn’t expect them. It sounds like you’ve been really efficient, so I bet you can get the second wave wiped out pretty quickly.

I got to hold the babies today! Frittata kept thinking I was going to feed him and was nibbling my hand. And then he didn’t want to leave when I put him down.
They’re still so ugly, but they’re getting a lot cuter when I can actually see them in person. XD

And I made a little card for the shells. I cracked myself up with the little doodles. XD

Don't they look more almost like a duck at that age. Thay are not pretty compared to adults.
The hatch of 9 that I did is a bust.
I moved them to my large incubator after the eggs in there all hatched. Maybe that ?

Hahaha you aren’t kidding…how can such beautiful birds be so ugly when little?? Isn’t it supposed to be the opposite? BB is huge in comparison to Frito! Those are faces only a parent could love I’m so glad they’re doing well! I can’t wait to see how they grow and change.
