Thanks @ChicksnMore!Good afternoon! I just came in from sorting out this year's babies into tentative keepers and for sure going birds. One of my neighbors is coming this evening to pick through them and take some home, then Monday I'll be taking some to another friend who wants a few more hens. Its always so hard to decide which to keep! Whatever's left in my "to go" pen I'll put up for sale this year. I've always preferred to give away my unwanted birds, but this year I think I have more then I can give away
The baby sparrow's are almost ready to fledge. They've finally developed a healthy fear response so today I get to set up their weaning cage.View attachment 3136542
I have a Canary I'll put in with them. They'll be able to watch her and learn how to eat and she won't be scared by my reaching in to feed them. She's a good teacher because she eats such a wide variety of food too. Hopefully they'll learn to be flexible eaters so they have a better chance when they're released.
O my gosh those tolbunts are adorable!
Thank you for spamming us! So many cute babies!![]()

Those sweet baby sparrows are so lucky to have you!! So precious!
Someday I want a peacock or two! Are they friendly when hand raised? Or are they more for lawn decoration?
