That sounds like a day well spent!Oh gosh, beat!
Got a text from a friend saying she had a friend who was helping out a gal too old to take care of her babies anymore.
I had just met a gal picking up manure from us saying she was thinking about getting chickens. Well, person + chickens = ♡ So, we went and made it happen. The older gal did not have a good set up and we had to break it down, basically cuttining it apart then loading everything on my truck for the new mom to use as temp housing while they built their coop this weekend or at least started it. I think the chickens are going to have a much better life than what they had and the older gal has one less thing to worry about. Happy ending.
When I drove up to our house my teens were fluttering in the yard with excitement. So beautiful. I'm so happy to be home with them. Such fun beauties.
They're all adorableI built a new platform and perches for my outside run and gave 12 silkies a bath/blowdry/dust bath because I found lice on my crossbeakalso cleaned and dusted their whole area with DE. Wondering now if that is why I lost two chicks last week randomly. Good times.
Here are a few of my birds for your viewing pleasure; Chickovsky, Millie, Eddie Feather, Pharies and Millie, Bananarama and Luna, & Persephone

I spent the day outside working on my new little coop. It's tiny...but I met my goal of using nothing but scrap and reclaimed wood. Not sure if that's a good thing or not yet. One or two more days and I'll be done though.
It was fun working with the ducks milling around at my feet. The drill kinda scared them at first. So I filled their little swimming pool with duckweed, pennywort and mosquito fish. They forgot to notice the noisey drill after that. I'd love to spend one day as a duck. They look like they have so much fun!
