What did you do with your flock today?

Nylon sounds good! I never was good at sewing stretchy fabrics so the thought of stretchy thread in a sewing machine makes my eye twitch...lol.
Ya know, I never researched the differences. I asked the gals @ sewing center and trusted what they gave me but I had a heck of a time with it. The Nylon is performing way better for me and it is probably that stretchy you were talking about that made things crazy.
WI CBL gal said she uses filament because it is clear. I don't think this thread needs to stretch, I mean, Im not a seamtress but I don't see why it would.

BAG TUTORIAL #3

Now your bag should look more or less like a grocery store bag.View attachment 3261419
Time to make and sew on handles.
Remember this one?View attachment 3261366
Open it up and cut out the hard overlapping plastic section.View attachment 3261370
Wipe off and cut in half. You now have 2 equal matching pieces. Fold into equal 3rds lengthwise. View attachment 3261373
Sew.View attachment 3261377
Now mark your bag. I mark mine at 2.5" from corner and my handles roughly 1" from end.View attachment 3261378
Final step! (Almost)View attachment 3261382
I sew forward and reverse, then 45° to bottom and forward and reverse again.
After finishing all four sides, cut threads and wipes ink off bags.

*I use a regular pen ink as it wipes away quick and a poly thread which is cray insane but works great once you figure out how to work with it. I had to make adjustments to my machine to get it to work but am very happy with it.View attachment 3261388
There are a ton of fun bags out there and your favorites may surprise you. These are the ones that are my favorites and that I keep in my truck. Store flat and I just love them.View attachment 3261401
Have fun! Let me know if I need to clarify anything ♡
I think you did a great job! Thank you!

I think the only reason it might need to move is so when you put thinks in the bag it moves better than your regular material thread. I think using regular material thread, like DMC, it would rip the bag. I knew when I was wanting to do a couple bags I would have to get special thread for it. Just kinda like jeans, you need special thread for that as well, due to needing to be strong enough.

I see some things I sould have done differently but hope I got the basics across. It is good to watch the YouTube tutorials and I should have just posted one of their links 😂 would have been way easier!
I think I might be able to follow along. Once I do it though I may have to come back to you. But being able to see the finished product will help. I have a hard time learning as it is but I was able to recreate a doll my grandma made for me when I was little (not as good as hers 😂) for my kids. I even made a boy for my little dude.

But honestly I think you did really good. The lines that you put on there I know will help me so I’m sure that will help a lot of others too.

Tomorrow my oldest has a game about 2 hours away, which crazy enough is the SAME place where our Rottweilers boyfriend is at AND she is in heat the SAME time frame as this game. I’m telling you it’s fate! We are meant to have baby little Rotties! Im so excited but a little nervous about it.

I got my chickens some cracked corn today and I haven’t given it to them yet. But I know they are going to love it. I just hope they don’t love it so much they don’t eat their food food. I don’t know how many times I have read this happening.

I am visual learner too, it really helped me when WI CBL sent me bags. It was a true gift that I will be forever grateful for- and hope to pass on. So I'll see if I can't get those bags out to you gals tomorrow. Also, I'm still learning these bags and honestly everytime I sew a batch I figure out how to do something better. I'm sure seamstresses everywhere are rolling their eyes and thinking duh but for me it is a major win. :bun:yesss:

To be honest, I think that makes you a seamstress. You should always be learning new things and trying thinks differently. My grandma was a seamstress and she would always tell me, if you don’t have to take something apart and do it again, you aren’t a true seamstress. My Aunt is also and I can’t count how many time so have seen her take her work apart. Although she can’t do this stuff anymore, she also would come up with better ways of doing things.

I am so excited for the bag! I cannot wait!

🌺Official good morning and happy Aloha Friday peoples!
So I am busy doing my thing this morning (sewing and cooking a big pot of beans 😁lol) and I hear all this crowing going on outside. It is still early- 7am at this time. I can tell I have at least 1 feral roo out there who sounds close and Spider going off further away towards the run. I pop my head out the Dutch door and lo and behold I see the feral roo doing a dance for B&C... he sees me and starts to leave and they start following him into the forest right before my eyes! I'm like nope, can't steal the grandkids chickens... but what mostly shocked me was a roo trying to entice what I have been resigned to prossibly/probably being a cockerel. I am still very unsure of B's sex @ almost 5 months old. My early morning extra crower is still happening but still pretty lousy. B still has no saddle, hackles, color bleed... and even seems rounder. I think the rooster wooing is a big clue... pretty sure the dance was for both and both skipped after the dashing man happily. If B was a boy the roo would have pounded him. So, think @FrankieDoodle is spot on. :barnie chickens! So B is a pullet.... well, today anyways lol

Think I will take those 2 down the mountain to re-intro early. See if I still have that extra crower up here. 🤔💡
