What did you do with your flock today?

O...poor Hope is hurting! That's so rough when their appetites that bad 😞. She's so lucky your willing to go the extra mile to get her to eat. Bet the showdown was cute though...🥺 Hope, 🤬😵‍💫😢🙄😍 you, 🥳🥰😋 Hope...or something like that!
Yeah, I don't have to syringe feed her and that is kind of good though I think I can get them a tad more balanced diet or boosted with syringe feeding but don't want to do it if she is doing a semi OK job of feeding herself.
Yeah, she is the worst case I have had yet. I think I will treat her other eye for eyeworms. I know those little jerks can cause some serious damage and may be why I am not seeing the results I had hoped for with the antibiotics. She does have some clearing but still sore and very swollen. If it was coryza it should have seriously been clearing up with the tylan 200.

OMGeeze I just lost all the quotes I had done...ugh
@kurby22 I got a wasp nest that keeps coming back again and again high up...will they bother the cochins up there? I'm afraid they are gonna fly right into em! Silly chicks took me 3 tries last night to settle em down. I gotta get a window cut in the coop or a light hung cuz they actually went to the coop door...stood there looking around and chirping but then backed out and went to the treat jar to roost. So it's gotta be cuz it is so dark in there before it is that dark outside that none of my babies will go inside at night!

@TropicalBabies I think PM is awesome idea as I appreciate and value all yall so much as well!!!

@ChicksnMore I never would have gotten cochins if it hadn't been here in our home town...and I LUV these lil turds! They are oozing with personality! My 3 yr old grandson adores them too!!!
I’m honestly not sure, they may leave them alone but wasps are jerks so I would probably worry too and find a way to get the nest down. I’m not sure how chickens handle bee stings but a whole nest of wasps attacking if the Cochin were to disturb them might be bad for them and you 😩 Ick, I really dislike wasps, so sorry you have to battle them!

Yeah DH has already climbed up in there and he got it down and we killed em all (we thought) and now it is back twice as big same exact spot! And last night it was just covered with em...size of your palm now in just a few weeks!

Ugh, those little jerks! They can be a persistent bunch!!

Yeah n it's not like ya can spray anything cuz it is in the coop.
So I guess he's gonna have to climb back up in there and get it down without getting stung!
Exactly! My son has been stung multiple times by wasps that kept building nests under our pool’s diving board 😖 It made him dislike swimming for a long time!

I am not a fan of wasps at all. 😬 Mean, mean, mean little creatures.

Well chicks are still hatching so I decided to let them ride in the bator for the night and go down early and get them all sorted in the brooder. May put a few chicks and unhatched eggs under Pukalani to break her fake egg broody early.

Hope looks a tad better this eve. She got a mealworm treat along with her diced meat and tomatoes. I'm hoping she does not lose an eye at this point. 🤞🤞🙏🙏 My poor baby ♡♡♡

How is sweet Hope doing today? Hopefully continued signs of improvement?

Got new pics of all the fluff balls today?? How many ended up hatching? Did the broody girl help you out? :)

Yesterday I went to get the chickens out of there coop and the sky was just beautiful!

Then throughout the day, I was running around like a headless chicken. I came home after my daughters practice and the sun wasn’t down yet or even close. But I noticed that their coop door flung shut (we need to add a latch at the top so it doesn’t keep doing this). I thought oh I will get it in a little. Then it was dinner time and still light out so I thought I will get the chickens after I eat. Well it got dark and I forgot I didn’t get them put up and forgot I didn’t open that door for them 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ It’s just been such a mess of a time. Well I got them in the coop and counted them. I kept counting 17, which I have done before and all 18 were there. So I kept counting, looked under the coop, no chickens. Went in and counted again. 17 still. I thought ok, she had to be roosting somewhere. And as I’m thinking “there is really only one place” and that’s when I seen her. There is a rip in the red canopy and she flew up there for the night. I got her down and got her in the coop. I feel so bad. I hope things start to somewhat slow down.
