What did you do with your flock today?

Thank you! Yes, I made the window openable, but still working on how to keep it open…I have a couple ideas, but wanted the walls up first.

I also made a little door for egg collection…its not real pretty but it works! :)

Thank you! Wish you weren’t quite so far away! I’d drive out and help :-D I am sure you will get it though! Just don’t be hard on yourself ❤️

Thanks!! My perfectionist side sees every flaw and imperfection but I know it doesn’t have to be perfect for the chickens to be happy and safe and dry so that’s what I’m trying to focus on.
Oh gosh yall are doing amazing!!! I luv how it is coming together!
Welllll...not exactly...I hired my husband to do all the power tool work, he was easily convinced so the screamer can get out of the house! :lau He has a habit of doubting my skills and ideas, so I have had to swallow a LOT of annoyance at the "that's never gonna work" face he makes when I ask him to do something. I love him but he was NOT gifted with the ability to visualize ANYTHING. And conversely, I am not gifted with the communication skills needed to aid someone like him in seeing what I want...this has been the source of MANY arguments between us over the past 15 years haha.
Yall sound just like me and my DH!!!

I might have gotten up a tad too early today. It's way to early to feel beat. 😂 Ah well. On the good side, we had snow overnight so my morning walk was a pretty time. View attachment 3406225View attachment 3406227
Didn't last long but that's twice I've seen snow here this year. Usually we go years between any snow at all!
My sister and her little family flew down to Sedona on Sunday to get away from the weather in Idaho…and they made the mistake of planning a trip to the Grand Canyon yesterday. They took the historic train ride, and ended up seeing nothing because of snow and 30 mph winds…and then drove back in terrible winter weather and road conditions that took almost 4 hours instead of 1.5. She’s very annoyed with Arizona weather right now 😆

Still trying to keep the yokos or re-home them and at the same time keep the other birds from getting it. Wishing I'd only worried about vaccinating my own birds so it'd be done already...but sounds like this weekend should work out. 🤞 So glad I paid for overnight shipping so the vaccine can sit in my fridge...lol. Anyways...the yokos are all healthy and looking great. Not a sign of sickness anywhere! I have to go look at pics of Baby's eye to remind myself. Still no illness anywhere else so that's good. Missing my favorite vet and wishing I had his advice.

I need to make windows on two coops so I extra love seeing what you've done ❤️. Would a hook and eye work to secure it open?
It looks good enough I know my kids would have fought the chickens for it when they were little 🤣.

@Gammas Bearded Babies o wouldn't we have fun if we could all come help! It'll come together for you and future projects will be easier too I'm sure ❤️
I bought the window frames off Amazon and glued acrylic glass on the back. Then painted over the “farmhouse” style look for clean to match! I’m planning to try the hook and eye latch and see how that works. Simple and effective is what I’m going for! I too would have loved to play in this house 😆

Well don't yall laugh!!!
Here's what I got...keeping in mind I'm not supposed to be buying anything (except I told DH I will need a piece for roofin).
Note I just have the framing clamped there at the roof to try and figure out an angle and how best to build it up against existing coop so that I don't end up with moisture coming into addition.
A start is a start! Trying to build onto a current build is definitely a different thing and it’s good you are taking the time to make sure it will work!

Its a good start and sounds like a plan is forming ❤️

O your poor sister! That kind of weather really is rare here too. Hope she enjoyed her Grand Canyon trip at least a bit!

@ChicksnMore Stunningly beautiful to see snow in the desert. Must have been a magical walk ♡♡♡ thank you for the wonderful photo!

Good thinking on glueing the plexiglass @kurby22 . Cute window.

@Gammas Bearded Babies you have a lot to work with. Good space, lots of 2x4's. You probably need to sit with it for a bit, make some drawings and wait for a nice day until you spring into action. That is how I am... then BAM! It all becomes clear and easy. Maybe watch some YouTube or Google to help inspire your direction. ♡♡♡

After waiting almost 2 weeks for the one print shop to help with the design of my bag tags, they came back with Lordknowswhattheywerethinkingjunk. I was a little sad but quickly used my girl brain, laid out what I wanted and emailed another printer and am ecstatic with it I think. I have only seen this proof. Will go pick up prints on Friday.

It is certainly a start. Also have another stand to make for another favorite Waimea restaurant! Yippee!

That is so awesome! I love the simplicity of it. I think that what you’re doing is amazing and just completely awesome!
