What did you do with your flock today?

My poor Pepper girl. I wrangled her off the roost tonight, to Cock E's protests and near attack. Good boy. Brought her in, washed her poopy rear and think she has a prolapsed anus, as poop was coming out of it. Glad it's not the other kind of prolapse. Her crop was full, but she is not the friendly, calm type (BR) I didn't want to stress her anymore tonight. Dried her off, and gently pushed it, and it went back in. She is in a cat carrier, inside for tonight. I may give her an Epsom salt soak tomorrow. Praying it will stay in.
Do you think I should keep her separate from the crazy boys for awhile so she doesn't get mounted,.and she can heal? How long? It supposed to be below freezing for the next 4 nights, and days in the 30's.

That is really kind of you ♡ Poor guy. Tuff as nails to be able to survive those conditions -coyotes, snakes, heat- even with your assist ♡
We have a tore up pure black feral who dines on our deck lol. I need to trap him and get him fixed. He may be the father to a lot of found kittens and stray cats around here. I really feel bad for him, he is so alone.

Well, Mele was a no brainer. All shelters are full, he is used to the area and Rod really likes him. He should be an easy blend. Unfortunately when I woke this morning he was in Forest's sleeping spot next to me. I need my Forest and don't like him hanging back or feeling second fiddle. He is my pal.
Poor Forest. Might take a bit, but I'm sure Mele will find an appropriate spot of his own.
Heinies been hanging around for a few years now. He used to bolt at any site or sound of people. He's not always here, but I know when he is he needs something. Food, safe sleep or doctoring.

The needles are sterile the first time used.. not so after, that's why they're disposable one time use. How many do you have to vax? The seals on the vials are self sealing, and an insulin needle shouldn't make too big a hole. Try and see, I guess.
I'll definitely try it with the next bottle. I have a lot of birds. 🤫🫣 But I was also doing two other properties. I went through an entire box of 100 needles plus had to reuse some. Not kidding about how big the hole got. But I can try resealing with wax maybe? Has to be something safe to reseal with. Any ideas appreciated! Next round I'm only doing my birds and the one property I couldn't get to this round. So less shots needed.
Another plus is I could just give out loaded needles and everyone can do their own birds. That would be a real time saver and blessing.

I'd definitely keep her isolated for at least a few days to a week. Poor baby. Hope she heals up ok.

Man we have gotten some serious rain last eve and today. Waialeale 13.34" think we must have been in the 5" range here at home... maybe. What ever it was it was a lot and more to come.
Think I have another new layer today... just have not found her egg yet lol.
*** found first egg in main coop 👍👍👍

After my thread crisis the last few weeks I got my thread order today. Probably never worry about thread again. I have never seen such a big beautiful thread thing.

I’d keep her in until it warms up and she has time to recover 😢 Poor Pepper 😢

Well I spent ONE night away…and had a chicken issue. I swear they sit around waiting to be problems! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Poppy (my new porcelain d’Uccles) appeared confused as to what bedtime was…sooo while I’m miles away I checked the cameras

So I spent 2 hours obsessively watching the camera to make sure she wasn’t attacked by rats till the pet sitter got back to get her.

I also wanted to keep an eye on the new chicks, so I got some entertaining shots of them 😍

Was a fun night away though…took the family to Great Wolf Lodge, and they swam lots and then got to go to the arcade. As you can guess…DDs favorite part was the arcade 😆

Then we get home and the big storm coming kicked up wind…and the worst piece of fence finally came down 😩

So after a long day in a humid chaotic pool/hotel with my in-laws, we had to clean up animals, fix up a fence solution and prepare things for the coming rains.

So I’m now sitting like a zombie watching Dateline and snuggling with the Screamer for a bit 😍 So exhausted—all of us! 🥱

O that is a beautiful tree! ❤️ Fingers crossed mine never get that gorgeous or I'll never get them inside for the winter 🤣. Wonder if I can keep em small and still get fruit big enough to drool over?

Well...think he trusts more then loves...but I'm awfully fond of the little yowler. ❤️

Maybe leave a sterile needle in the bottle seal to plug it? Might be a challenge to store with the syringe sticking up, but at least it'll be plugged. Or maybe sterilized piece of tinfoil, sealed real tight, or vacuum seal in a bag?
