What did you do with your flock today?

K. Gotta share. So, I told you guys about my awful mosquito problem right? And b4 that having a fly problem.... well I ordered fly strip for the heck of it (cheap and not plastic) but they did not work as I needed for the flies. Last eve I put out 4 strips in hopes I could catch a few mosquitos and well...View attachment 3414584View attachment 3414585View attachment 3414586
How blinking insane is THAT! And they have 2 sides. So, needless to say I just ordered 3 more packs of 10 (hope that is enough) and will put out the last 5 I have on hand today. Poor chickens 😞🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟
Wow, that’s just super yuck!! So glad you got some but definitely glad you are getting more!! 🤢🤢

Well, soaked the roosts with Ecovet, set 5 additional tapes in key places and went next door and found a few places with standing water. So all about breaking the life cycle 🤞🤞 and hope we get a reprieve soon though I am sure there is standing water all over. Heck, I'm sure a leaf can grow a hundred 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟 larve.
Girls gave me a cool 18 eggs today. Puka is almost finished with her molt and looks LOVEY. Peaches just started hers a few weeks ago. Flock is terrific though I did notice Beetle has a slight limp so I'll be checking him out in a bit. Spider has been scolding him a little more now that spring is in the air but want to rule out bumble.

Welcome to @FrankieDoodle 's thread. It is a fun lighthearted one at that. We are glad you joined us ♡ Love funny people with beautiful birds 😉😉😉 Picture is worth a 1,000 words but chime in when you can, new voices are always fun.
X2. It's lovely to have you here, you make me chuckle and your girls are beautiful. Everyone is lovely on here. I'm still new and everyone has made me feel so very welcome❤️

Absolutely CHARMING ♡♡♡View attachment 3414878
Just realised this last photo, the one you've cropped beautifully, is a real family shot. Baby Stanley (can't believe he's nearly 6 months old!), auntie Penelope (Ferdy's full sister and hatchmate), granny Clara (not that she ever took an interest in raising them) and daddy Ferdy on the end!

She seems better this afternoon. After a bath, her prolapse actually went inside by itself. That only lasted until it was time to go back in her crate, but an improvement. Poops are getting larger in diameter, though she still strains, then it falls out after it shrinks back . Have gotten Prep H on it. Hungry and drinking. Saying prayers for her recovery. Your information is very helpful.
Oh! That IS good news that it's going back by itself. Now we just need it to stay in more permanently! Keep doing what you're doing, it's super important the tissue doesn't dry out and keep checking for any necrosis. Pepper may still a stitch but hopefully not. You're doing a fabulous job with her! :thumbsup

Oh this is beautiful! Luv it!

So have yall ever had a girl go broody and have crop issues.ay same time?
I noticed Bambi's crop was plucked clean from being broody...I'm trying to break her from it. Day 3
Then I noticed a hard mass where her crop is. I massaged it last night but still hard this morning. She's acting like normal broody otherwise.
I'm gonna go bring her in to the ICU in garage and monitor her water intake and poop and give her a docusate sodium 100mg per the article on BYC I just read.
But I wanted to see if this is par for the course for a broody in storing up so she can stay on nest.
Not hatching eggs at this time so no babies for gamma! God made it very clear and I thank @PopoMyers for sharing that voice of encouragement the other day which only reiterated what I had heard Him saying.
Thanks yall!
