What did you do with your flock today?

So I wanted to let you all know in case you didn’t already but any antibiotic medication that we all have been able to get over the counter for our animals will need a prescription in June of this year. I would stock up on what you can unless your like me and have a vet nearby. I just heard about this.

More strong winds today...with warnings of tornados this time around. Another week of no work on the backporch...makes 3 full weeks of good weather they could have worked and did not. Very frustrating but guess we need to grow some patience and wait.which I'm NOT good at

Let all the babies outta the coop and listened to the lil Buff baby Sonny "hoot, hoot" his little crow while Hank tried to remain in the coop and figure out how Sonny has been doin it LOL. All Hank can do is honk quietly!
Meanwhile poor ole bootyhead Joey has 1 lone tail feather remaining. He looks hideous. Bluey keeps pulling Joey's down feathers out then calls the girls over to eat em as a treat! Now is that strange or what?!
How long does it typically take for them to grow their new feathers back in?

Helped my middle daughter with the nursery yesterday cuz she's due first. Extremely sore after just raising my arms and pressing vinyl to the walls - daisies!
Need to figure out a time to help my oldest with her nursery before middle daughter has her baby...they are 3 weeks apart so should be interesting. She wants a very elegant looking nursery!

My DH looked at mine and helped fix an area that was comical but i hadn't been able to do anything else since.

No new work done on my coops. Lots of cold, wet and windy windy days here lately. Next weeks supposed to be warmer so hoping to get back to work on them then. Did get all my roof supplies bought and more screws cause I'm finally running low on my reused ones.

Question…I wanted yo start using feed from a local feed. The mill it is made at (I think maybe this factory is only dog food) is right in my home town. There is also another about 40 min away and a few more throughout the state at least. I went in to check prices. If they were going to be more than the local farm store I wasn’t going to do it. HOWEVER it was cheaper. Not by much but enough. A bag of medicated chick feed is $21 and the layer feed is $20. Problem though, is they don’t have an All flock feed. I don’t need it for my ducks because they seriously only go through a bag a feed once a month, or longer. But I can go to tractor supply an hour away by the time they need more and do that and whatever else we are doing. I really need it though for my roosters. Here is my question, would meat bird feed be too much protein for them all? I know that my roosters aren’t going to just eat the feed I provide them separate from the layer feed and I know they girls are going to eat the feed meant for the boys. I just want to provide something different and maybe cut down on how much calcium the boys are getting.

If you garden, you can treat em to lots of veggie greens by just picking off any yellowing leaves or leaves that rest on the dirt. I go through my garden and pluck those or any badly bug eaten leaves off to give my chickens. Weeds to of course.
