Also, since it is crazy weather Friday I figured I share our weather too.

We are somewhere inbetween. Calling for wind and rain, just not sure what direction it will come from, maybe both. We have a series of coldfronts developing that are supposed to cut our prevailing trades, moisture to the south... it should be interesting... so both green areas are headed towards each other... then probably headed towards @kurby22 and her cute chicken coop ♡♡♡

Mosquitos are horrendous again. Good news is the repellent hubby makes works pretty good for the mosquitos without upsetting the chooks. I also turned on a few fans as we have no winds. Hope that helps blow the little away. I have seen it bad many times in my life but NEVER this bad and for this long by far. Terrible. Poor chickens.
Even the boys up Koke'e are getting swarmed.

I grew up eating dandelions but they grow kinda mediocre here. I was so happy to find chickery grows like crazy here and reminds me of dandelions

I'm so glad no one got hurt and DH made it home. Sounds like you guys are having a really rough time there. Hope it doesn't reach tornado level and everyone stays safe

I love blanched dandelions and chicory! They're a bit of an aquired taste. My DH  hates them as does everyone i know. Except my youngest brother, he 'gets' them.

Does anyone remember pogs? They were a big thing over here. All kids and some adults had to have them. For some strange reason these bags remind me of pogs...

So, scrubbed waterers, topped off feeders, reinforced a chicken door (wire had rotted out) so I could lock the chooks out of the garden area. I then cleaned it up and watered. Think I will keep them out for a bit to give it a rest.

My syringes were old and few. I tend to give away and lose etc. Think the gasket coming loose on one of the 2 3 mils I have left was my inspiration.
I use for tylan when sick or hurt but they come in handy for tons of stuff. Syringe feeding may be my biggest use. Be nice to have a stash of fresh sterile on hand. Like I said, grown-up lol. Not sure who's question that was as I have been peeking in but not had time to respond.

That would be me love that malt bag! Pogs were a thing when my younger bro and my nephew were in school.

Power came back on at 5:30am! Thank You Lord!!!
The temp dropped down to 30s after all the crazy wind pushed through and the tornados kept at bay thankfully!
@TropicalBabies that radar looks as bad as the mosquitoes sound!
I'm gonna try to get the lean-to coop going today cause the Buff babies are getting picked at by the others quite a bit.
And just when I think the pecking order has been established things change ... is it a seasonal thing too or just part of it for em to challenge each other out of nowhere? Lizzy and Cathy were going at it this morning.

Here's an easier way to do this. Get a bucket or big can. 4 scoops of the higher protein feed to one scoop of scratch. Mix well in a big container. Sorry I made that so hard.

Your good. I just don’t do well with math. Not my strong suit….

So much to be thankful for and too many much worse off than us!
They said no tornadoes but wind gusts got up to 79mph. So many huge trees uprooted everywhere and on people's homes. Carports and porches ripped off people's homes.

Be weird not to be anxious w/ 80mph winds. That's crazy. Almost a cat 1 hurricane. Wind makes me nervous too.

Spring my chooks act weird-er. Boys squabble more. Few weeks ago I had a few few girl throwdowns. Never had so many b4. I'm a bit crowded now as my norm and I think that has something to do with the squabbles too.

Why you mixing scratch with feed? I missed this one.
My chooks would pick out all of the scratch (make a mess out of it if they can) , burp and be done. Do I have uncivilized rogue agents?!!
