What did you do with your flock today?

Wow! Those candlesticks are insane! Exactly the sort of thing I would buy and DH would just shake his head at disappointedly...
They were pretty cheap therapy as I did not have a lot of competition. Probably lucky you weren't bidding on them lol

I did not introduce hubby to them. I like them and don't want to hear it, they tone down and give character to the tall brass candlesticks I have. One day DH will look up and maaaaybe notice. I feel reaffirmed knowing you would have bid on them with all of your fabulous English charm ♡♡ Love British Colonial or Spanish Colonial decor and that I think they do.

Mine haven't ever night crowed - touch wood!. (I've often woken up from nightmares where they've woken the whole town and the police have arrived to arrest me and them, however! )
I understand it's usually things like headlights going by on the road or predators coming too close - in essence, doing their jobs and warning the flock. Other than trying to figure out what they're reacting to and eliminating it, not sure how you'd stop it other than locking them in the coop every night. Sorry, not much help, am I?
Been there had that dream a thousand times lol!
I put em all in the coop last night (except ole bootyhead Joey) cuz Bluey kept getting him and Joey would literally bolt out of the coop door back into the rub.
They were much quieter so i think yall maybe right. Plus got the garden all planted up and saw digging this mornign darn it! So gonna get the trap back out already. Probably the dang ground hog i saw getting it the other day outside our fence...only ever caughte coons and opossums.
I'm slow about getting the stuff I'd like to do done and there's a lot of big projects I haven't done because I'd need to get approval from hubby first. I want to replace almost all of our flooring and I'd love fresh paint through out the whole house. But I won't get those things unless I can convince hubby. ☹️ Little projects I just surprise him with when he gets home and sees them...lol.

The auction sounds fun! Hope everythings even better finds then you anticipate ❤️

4 days of egg collecting yielded me 4 18 pks plus change.View attachment 3474659View attachment 3474664
What is there not to love about chickens? My regulars customers have been a little quiet so I'm placing a quick add. Nice to have surplus again.
Hey have yall tried Farmish? It's an app for this kind of stuff!

That is pretty cool. I like it best when my customers are all my close neighbors. I live on the more, or most isolated part of the island and would like to reach the folks who live here. Our resources are not as plentiful as other parts of the island, we are the last dog to the bowl forsure, so my goal is keeping it local, local. I'll get there. It has only been a few years 😂
All but 1- 18pk is gone since 5am. So good.

LUV that! I forget it's not as big as we are here.

@ChicksnMore I lost the copy quote thingee but I'm so sorry you had to rehome a gorgeous fellow! But I sooooo understand and your fast action due to what could happen...I should have done same with Joey long time ago!

Oh how bitter sweet 💔 I love that new guy is a wonderful pea dad and also keeps you posted. That is thoughtful. Oregon sounds wonderful and is certainly very handsome. There will be a big beautiful sized hole in your yard. I find I need to emotionally sit for a bit after subtracting a chicken or roo. I need to acknowledge the loss even if it is a good one. ♡ deep sigh.
Màin reason I give that guy birds a lot. Love the little clips he sends off and on to just say "hey...love these guys, look how cute they're being". But o I'm going to miss that ham of a bird! Oregon was so crazy calm about being bagged etc. I was surprised to be honest. I expected him to say, nope...bags aren't for me. But he just looked at us all curious and went along with it. Poked his head out the hole and layed down. Made me even sadder to say goodbye and wonder if I overreacted. :idunno But it's done so...no regrets right.
When I was a kid I once bought a lovely, chunky turned wooden candle holder at our school fete. It was identical to one we had at home. I was so excited! I bought it and handed it proudly to mom. She sighed dramatically. Yup, I'd bought back the one she'd donated....
That's one of the funniest things ever! 🤣🤣🤣

Yall the refuge place contacted me back...they r bout an hour away but are willing to take ole bootyhead Joey as they go to Indiana tonight to a larger place for several of the critters on their land. He would be at a 109 acres free and put up at dusk. They have a vet on sight as well.
Sound too good to be true?

What a terrific place!! Bless that gal. She needs someone to sew bags for her 😂🛍

Enjoying a break in the garden with little Snookie. My old boy Oliver was determined to get his share of affection too. He's 11 now!
