What did you do with your flock today?

Changed waterers, added feed, threw starfruit and a tomato, scraped boards and collected eggs. Mostly I babysat Tally and dosed and combed Poppy for fleas. Poppy is responding quickly to the meds. Im stoked.View attachment 3631440View attachment 3631438kind of exhausted from not enough sleep last night. Tally is doing great besides keeping me awake. He uses his litter box and has been a good eater.

Aww, how adorable! 😍😍😍😍
I think I have a similar photo of Elliot at a similar age. I'll have a look later. Love, love, love little tubby kitten bellies!

If I had the kind of land that chickens can eat well off of, I'd definitely encourage them to learn to forage. Healthier birds that way I believe .... especially if every evening they can come home and eat all the processed food they want. Keeps them highly active which leads to less laying problems and longer lives.
I totally agree. I have a very limited space for my birds but they 'free-range' all day, every day (unless we're under an housing order for bird flu). I leave the run door open and they go in and out at will. Their food and water are in there and the nest boxes. I fence off two flower beds they aren't allowed in early spring to late autumn but anywhere else is fair game. They also get to free-range on our allotment twice a week while we work on it. I think that helps their mental health immensely.

May be a failed adoption as I think the only one i will let this kitty go to is @kurby22 .

We have an average of 48" of rain, annually. ☔

However it's been hot and we haven't had rain until a couple weeks ago, from a tropical storm. Afterwards the yard perked up.
Wow! Tucson's annual rain by year 😭

Yet somehow when I look up what our average yearly rainfall is, the records say we average almost 12" annually. Guessing we were a lot rainier years ago when they first started recording.

There's no way you're not keeping that one. He's just so adorable! Unless you want to give him to me?🤣I'm sure my two could teach him some bad habits....

@kurby22 could definitely use a Tally Ho on her property!
So could I! Caught 3 rats this morning. Unfortunately one was dead. It looked like it was following the adult into the trap when the adult triggered it and the door snapped shut on the youngster's neck. At least it will have been an instant death.😣

I sure could!! Shadow may have the capacity but so far lacks the interest in the outdoors 😆 The husband who insisted this one was outdoors only has declared him a failure and brings him in to sit in his lap 😍

The power of cats! Unwilling humans ALWAYS cave in the end....
