I have the same problem when I bring them their wet mashed feed. Sometimes I have to push them out of the way with my foot so I don't trip over or step on them.I tried not to step on the girls... this is a normal daily occurrence - whether I have wet mash or not lol
I push them out of the way and make clucking noises with my tongue. They have mostly learned that it means "get out of the way". I only step on toes maybe once a month now.I tried not to step on the girls... this is a normal daily occurrence - whether I have wet mash or not lol
Oh yeah I talk to them cluck at them call them, it's just fun, I love it. Love them. I sit on a milkcrate in the pen and talk to them for as long as I can (10-15 minutes to an hour or longer, depends on the day)I push them out of the way and make clucking noises with my tongue. Today we made a start on re-building the little chicken run. Fed my flock left over eggs (I hard boil them, and crush them). Tended to the bedroom flock (the blind chicken has been separated from the red sex links because they keep pecking her) added a black australorp to the blind chickens' pen because my hen seems to be not eating, and I want to keep an eye on her. The hen and the blind chicken actually seem to get along.
And we have a new addition to the flock...View attachment 3639940
There will be more chicks, but she's the first hatched.
Her half shell managed to then wrap itself around a different egg... I'm glad I went to find her shell, because I'm pretty sure the other chick wouldn't have been able to break out of a double shell. Life with chickens is always interesting!
I love it. They talk I talk to them as if they understand and respond lol click, move them, pet them, so much fun.I have the same problem when I bring them their wet mashed feed. Sometimes I have to push them out of the way with my foot so I don't trip over or step on them.
