What did you do with your flock today?

I think we just do the best we can, with what we have, at the time. I mean, hindsight is 20/20. The would have, should have, could have is terrible, we cant see around cornwrs. We learn everyday (hopefully), and when we know better we do better. You are a smart lady and put all you have into all you do. You are no slouch ♡♡♡ I'm sure it was the right decision at the time, you could not foresee the outcome. :hugs ♡♡ be kind to yourself.
Thanks friend ❤️ :hugs

Your hamburgs are so pretty!! I am going to need some of them some day...because...spots. :D I've hesitated because I read they are pretty independent and active and don't know that my "space" is real great for super busy birds. They seem like the forage and wander type that needs more space than I have. I have tried to stick with breeds that are rather content with captivity and flock friends. :) Have you found this to be true of yours? Are they pretty active and independent? They get along with others okay?
They are very active! As babies, when I came to check on them they'd get so excited and leap over each other to get to me. Single bound leaps to go right over each other. Like popcorn exploding towards you. No pushing and shoving...just pop pop pop. I don't find them at all stand offish though. They're very sweet and friendly...just active. As almost adults they don't seem as crazy active as they were as babies. They're very alert but not high strung. I'm really enjoying them! Can't wait to see if they earn the "every day layer" nickname I read about.

Hennys in love ❤️😃

Dang it, you were supposed to say "yes, they really are busy and independent and probably not right for you" hahaha. Now I want some :D

It's not so much what I did as to what I saw.... As I was going out this afternoon to start closing up the kids for the night of all things I met a young possum coming right toward me. It never paid any attention to me at all. Cute devil but he's got to find a new place to grow up. I don't need one around my chickens even if they do eat ticks.

Are possums a worry with chickens? We saw them everywhere in Kentucky when I was a kid but I was young and only remember loving how they carried their kids and, well....just about everything about them 😂. I found them fascinating.
