What did you do with your flock today?

Kiddos coming down for the weekend today so not much time, but had to share cute pictures of the kitties hubby calls chickens 😍

Thanks! Me too 😍 The other newbies are like giants in comparison to these teeny babies! They’re about 8 weeks now, but it’s been so nasty outside I’ve left them inside for the time being…not for long though! 😍

Jett is my favorite so far. She’s just really sweet and chill ❤️

Oh spoiled little chickens!!!! OK @kurby, how many chickens do you have now? I won't tell your husband 😂🤣😂🤣 You have some really good looking birds for sure!

I reintegrated my chicken with the impacted crop back into the flock today. Her crop isn't emptying completely but it's a lot better than it was. To make the reintroduction easier I let them all out to forage at the same time so they'd have other things to focus on other than a strange chicken. And I thought that excercise-by-foraging might be helpful for the crop problem.

She seems to be doing alright but I'll keep a close eye on her and her crop condition. I read today that crop problems (impacted/sour) are often caused by internal issues like gizzard or digestive tract problems, even cancers and other internal problems.

If that's the case, working only on trying to help the crop empty overnight wouldn't be a permanent fix because the real problem causing the impacted crop is elsewhere in the chicken.
