I guess it could be a possibility if she doesn't lay the egg by tonight...Poor baby! She must be so uncomfortable. What have you tried so far? An experienced vet can aspirate the egg then extract the shell, then purse string suture the vent in place as a last resort, if that's a possibility for you?
I've tried pushing it in and holding it closed, rinsing it out with glucose water, smothering raw honey and cortisone cream on it to reduce the swelling, I'm smashing up calcium pills and putting those in her food. Didn't try the bath because it's definitely a waste of time, so I went right in for the more invasive method. She's had about 3 pills worth of the powder in her food (that is if she eats all of it...) She is REALLY straining this morning and when she does strain her prolapse gets humungous...I hope she's trying to push the egg out?
