What did you have for breakfast this morning?

The molting is coming to an end for some of the girls so egg production is starting to pick up again. With extra eggs on hand, I fixed a big skillet of scrambled eggs, some for me with shredded cheese, salt & pepper and the rest for the girls.

Do any of you have EE? I only have 1 and she is the slowest molter in the flock. I don't think I've had one of her pretty greenish-blue eggs for about 3 months now and she just slowly is going bald.

Funny, I just changed it back. And had a heck of a time getting it to change too (finally had to shut down and restart my laptop). I was getting concerned I was going to be stuck with a Fri. the 13th avatar forever, lol.

I have a couple EE's that are like that. I also have a few that get almost totally naked when the molt. I have noticed that EE's seem to take a longer fall break than some of my other breeds.

That's reassuring to know it's not just my strange girl. She's a great bird, lays pretty eggs, sweet personality but with such a long molt I wouldn't want a whole flock of just them...you'd have to go without eggs forever, lol.

Today's breakfast was DH's sausage & potato has, a toasted sesame bun and some apple cider. I've been on a cider kick lately, it's been a nice change from the usual morning juices

We JUST made some apple cider from our apple trees about two weeks ago. In total I think we had 103 bags!

now I eat it and drink it all day
