I have been shadowing this site for a year while building chicken housing, and trying to learn as much I can before the chicks moved in. I noticed how clever you are with chicken names, and would love to see more.

I'll start: 2 - Aussies Lucy and Ethel 2 - Doms Tiny and Whiney

Hah hah, there're some pretty cool names out there eh? We've had our chooks for only a few months now, their names are Tanikwa (Black Silkie), Schnitzel (Sussex), Bruce (RIR) and B*tch Hen (Buff RIR).

I have this dream to raise the proudest, most masculine, spectacular cock and name him Vincent. Unfortunately our local council won't allow cocks, so for now it'll just remain a pipe dream.

Enjoy your babies and welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! TwoCrows gave you a great thread to check out for chicken names, yours have some cute names!

Welcome btw! I didn't realize you were new!
My son named our rooster Turbo. Kiddo is 4 :)
The only pullet named so far is Nellie, cuz she was so nervous early on.
I have a cochin/silkie mix that I call Cochin. Lol He/she is 4 weeks old and I have a nutty little Mottled Java chick whose name is Java. Not very creative, I know, but he acts like he drank his weight in coffee, uptight little bugger.
Enjoy your flock!
@wally escondido i love your silkie's name! :)

Oh, I forgot to mention, my son calls the older pullets The Darlings. I asked him if he wanted to give them all names and he said no, just Darlings. He did call one Sugar Pie once, but I don't know if that's going to stick. Kids are so funny.

I named my favorite rooster Zaxby, then I named his son "The Colonel". Zaxby's favorite hen is named Chic Filet... Popeye is a name I plan to use also. I guess you know where the inspiration for these names came from.

Welcome! :)

I haven't named all mine yet as my chickens over the years have always managed to name themselves. (Had 5 roos we used to call Robin Hood and his men in tights because they always traveled together and one was dominant over them all.) R
ight now only one chick has a name and it's name is Chippy because my daughter said he looks like a chipmunk. :)
