Nice information Paduan. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. I have always been aware that manufacturing has effected the quality of both eggs and chicken just like it has vegetables. I would also say that taste is a good way to experience that difference as well. Good food tastes good unless you are talking about spinach lol. I have through other activities seen the difference a varied and more natural diet can do for the growth and health of an animal. The number one case was when I had fish in an aquarium. giving them an extremely wide variety of foods, including live foods caused them in some cases to grow 4 times as fast. I have also read some information that the actual Hunt or Foraging actually makes a difference. Sort of like it triggers hormones or whatever in the animal. That is sort of getting out there on a limb with the issue though. It is pretty easy to say that a foraging Chicken get far more exorcise though, and we all know what exorcise does for your health. I find it hard to believe that a healthier bird would not be in better shape to produce a better egg. just sort of common since to me. one way to try and establish that would be to look at fertility rates and hatch rates of ranged birds compared to hatched birds. not proof by any means but data at the very least as to the health of the egg. After all a fertile egg is a living creature.
