They won’t really go under brooder plate, they lean against it. It’s hot today, 83 in this room. Just found three laying down throwing head back and breathing hard when I pick them up

They are 4 days oldThey breathe hard and stay away from heat sources.
They might breathe hard when you pick them up because they're nervous.
83 is decently warm for anything over a couple of weeks, I'd turn off the heat plate.
4 daysWhat usually ends up hapoening to them when too hot is they die. How old are they?
Under their bedding? What temp should that be?Have you checked the temperature under their bedding?
At 4 days old?Shoulda like they are over heated. Remove the heat plate immediately. 83° is plenty warm enough for them.
And they are not going under it as all my other groups have. And they are dying outside of the plate. The brooder is a large watermelon box so they ah e lots of room without it. I turned the over head fan on and the 4 that were fading revived so far with molasses water and yolk slurryAt 4 days old?
