Just put the crumbles in your hand, and tap the crumbles repeatedly with your finger. They will catch on and start eating it from your hand.

Today was the day!!!!!!!!!!!! I put some crumbles + boiled smooshed up egg in my palm feeding frenzy. Hooray Hooray. What fun! Tonight I didn't have the egg, but my hand and crumbles

another feeding feast. Soo--o--o-o-o-o much fun.


Now, a problem, I think: I just could not get the brooder to cool down, and more than one of the chicks was starting to pant. SO, we took out the heat lamp and replaced it with a 100W bulb. They seem a lot more .......... active and a LOT more inclined to fight, assert dominance and all that stuff. Is this something I should worry about? Seems like I read somewhere that the red light of a heat lamp is more soothing to them .... IDEAS???? HELP.

Glad to hear you chicks appretiated your offerings. The chicks will, and will continue too via for dominance IE the "pecking order" it's very normal, and normally wont be an issue. That is until you have mutliple roo's facing off which is a different story all together.
