I'm 6 months into owning my 1st chicken flock. 5 Buff Orpington Pullets, 1 Buff Orpington Cockerel, 1 Lavender Orpington, 2 Rhode Island Red Pullets.

We had to get rid of our Cockerel due to the crowing. So we found a lady who will home him for us, so that we can use his stud service.

So my Buff Orpington-roo matted with my Buff & Rhode Island Red pullets. This yielded us 12 eggs to incubate, which in turn yielded us 12 brand-new baby chicks. What do I call these chicks? Rhode Island Red Orpington Cross? Ruffingtons? :woot

Up until this summer, I've only had pure breeds. This time, an EE egg was mistaken for a Cream Legbar egg, and it got placed under my broody. Out hatched the prettiest little pullet, an EE/Legbar mix. She just began laying the prettiest turquoise eggs. I call her Betsy. She is not a nugget.

What does EE mean?
