I made sure everyone had feed and water yesterday everyone got more then usual just incase I couldnt get to them today.

Good thing I did I'd break my leg trying to walk down the hill on a Inch of ice and its still coming MORE AND MORE.

I didnt even get to go check on anyone outside today. My worry is I wont be able to get to them tomorrow EITHER...

I heard my roos out crowing today and I even think my hens laid...from all there honking today.

What am I going to do????????? Will they be ok or will they starve to death before I can get to them to feed them????????

I am so very worried about my chickens!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its pretty bad here are electric is still on but its been flickering on and off all day....

What happened in the old days????? I sure your chickens will be fine. You know before electric was even thought of .Come on what are people thinking about. Chickens are survivors.

Sorry I just learned I just got laid off from work. But they are survivors more than we are.

Teresa - I wouldn't worry, I think they'll be ok with little food (mine hardly ate at all today.) and the water should last them more than a day - so I wouldn't lose sleep.

eta - we got lucky over here I guess, only about a quarter of an inch of ice - but branches are coming down and a few folks without power, too.

I think they will be fine. Everyone should worry about the economy. Things are not good and I'll about bet that is not going to get any better. Even though we have a new President. So called!!!!!!

They will survive 48 hours without food or water, they won't appreciate it, but they will survive !

Is there anyone at your house with you??? If not, call a neighbor before you venture to the barn. Tell them what you are doing, tell them you will call them back when you get back from the barn and if they do not hear from you they will need to call for help.

And do not depend on the cell phone in your pocket, if you fall and hurt yourself, you may not be able to get that phone out and use it.

thanks everyone for the replies my brother told me if I couldnt get to my babies tomorrow (Yes my chickens are my babies!) He would go feed them for me! He has been out all day helping people with the ice and stuff so he is use to this stuff so I feel 100% better now with everyones replies that if I couldnt they be ok but now I feel so much better!!!
