I noticed that when my roosters feet got wet (All of my chickens have feathered feet & legs) from morning dew or rain it looked like they were hurt. I would see red and thought something happened. When I look closer it seems to be inside the quil. I didn't notice anything on the hens just the roosters. I've asked no one has ideas so haven't known what to do. They are now 3 yrs old. Still do it, only seems to get worse. resently I saw something on you tube about mites so thought maybe that was it. I got pcp and sprayed all chickens and noticed the hens have it too only not as bad or noticeable. 2 weeks after treatment no change. So sprayed them again. Has been 3 weeks and no change. I saw you can dip in vegetable oil. Have done that 1 week every other night so far no change. I cannot find anything that talks about blood or irritation inside the quil. What is it and what do I do?
