So, what do you all do with your chicken's poo? Can I just put it in my compost bin? Will it stink to high heaven when it is warm out? I don't want the neighbors to hate me... [IMG]
Also, I opened the bag of chick starter I bought a few days ago, and it had worms in it! Is that ok for the chicks? Extra protein? Or should I just get rid of it...

In the winter I shovel my shavings/poo directly onto my veggie garden beds. It ages there and is ready to be turned under come spring. In the summer or when I have fragile plants in the beds I dump it all on the compost heap. Fresh poo is hot and will scourch young, tender plants.
Truthfully, I never notice a smell until the runs get really wet. Use a little Diatomaceous Earth (sp?) in your coops and it will help things considerably.
