Well I have a dove egg
And it's gonna hatch in 5-10 days and I wanna know that when it hatches how long will it stay without food and what do I feed it

They can last 1-3 days but you should give her some food and she can eat it when she's hungry. Make sure she knows its there though

So the baby can eat the food at birth no need to make it all like a paste?

Prepare cat or dog food or whole grain bread by soaking it in water and mash until it is the consistency of ketchup. Alternately, buy canary rearing milk from an animal supply store. Place food in a syringe.

Feed the squab three to four times a day starting 12 to 24 hours after birth. A newly hatched squab needs rest and warmth more than food. Gently take the squab's beak and move it in an up and down motion until the bird opens its mouth for food. Insert the syringe and feed a small amount into the squab's mouth. Take frequent breaks to allow swallowing and breathing.

Start adding small amounts of pigeon seed or pieces of water-moistened pigeon pellets once the bird grows feathers. Gradually add more seed. Once the bird begins pecking motions, scatter seeds or broken pellets on the ground in the nest.

I have a diamond dove egg ( FYI)
Thank for ur info but I can't get canary milk were I live :/ can't I give it cow milk?

And can it have Pearl millet at birth that's what I feed rest of my doves

The first 5 days are make or break when it comes to raising squabs you may get by with warm milk substitute in my suggestion I have no way of knowing. I am not familiar with Pearl millet it may be ok as long as it was ground up to have a ketchup like consistency. This is a project that is going to be demanding at first as the squabs need to be feed 4 and 5 times a day for the first 3 days or so. Wishing you luck you will need it.

I agree with hokum. The first five days are the time you have to do the big "motherly" work.and that recipe of the grain bread sounds helpful, try it.

Hey hokum
I have his mother to will she accept the baby thought he has been hatched in an incubator and we took the egg away from her (cuz she wouldn't sit on it and just serve us an egg flip)
