What do I feed the bunny????

My cat caught a bunny, and it seems unhurt somehow. So now instead of letting him eat it, I want to help the bunny. What do wild bunnies eat???? How do I keep the bunny happy as a pet?

I agree that it won’t do good it more then likely will not make it if you keep it but if you insist I’d try to find bunny food at your local farm store

I guess rabbit food? But it really should be released. Being in captivity will only stress it out

Also in most places it is illegal to keep wild rabbits.

Your best option is to release this Wild Rabbit back out into nature where it belongs. It is not a pet rabbit and would have a very hard time surviving in captivity unless you are a trained rehabber and know what you are doing.

Most states have laws in place that do not allow anyone unless you are a licensed rehabber to possess wild animals.

If this little one is uninjured please release it back where it was found.

Put it back outside and it will feed itself. Then consider getting a catio for your cat.

We once (when we were young and didn’t know any better) caught two baby rabbits, about the size of yours, and they were miserable. They were high strung and just wanted out. Like the others said, don’t keep it for a pet. Maybe a day or two just to make sure it is okay…but that’s it!
