What do I have to do when the babies hatch?

I would trust your broody to know if and when to give up on the as yet unhatched eggs. She's done a great job so far. Let her finish it. She'll bring the chicks off when she decides the other(s) aren't going to make it.

I have read about eggs exploding! Would not want to have to wash the babies.

That is very rare, and in general you can trust the broody to decide what's best for her chicks. Her instincts have been honed over thousands of years, and she knows more about it than we do.

Thanks :) Yes, Saffron has been excellent. She knows what she is doing.

Just sit back and enjoy her and her chicks. You'll learn a lot more by watching her than by reading other people's accounts and ideas.

After reading all this...I am invested. Update? Did the others make it?!
No, so we just have the 7. That is enough. Looks like most will be porcelain.
