What do I use to raise my coop off the ground?

Hey all!

I'm getting ready to build my coop for 2 ameraucanas, 2 Barred Rock, 1 RIR, 1 Black Sex Link. We are allowing them to free range our 30' x 46' backyard that is fenced in. So, I don't need to raise the coop to allow them under it (like you would with a Coop and run). But, I have read that raising the coop is important for many other reasons. Because of that, I'm a little lost on what to use to raise it up. We want to be able to walk inside of it still for cleaning purposes.

raise mine 2 ft.

Depending on how high you want to raise it.... Railroad ties would give them plenty of room to go under the coop...

5 gallon buckets full of concrete.

yes i weigh 200 lbs. and ive been walking all over it. i attached each post to the floor with six 2 1/2 inch screws. you could also use some lag bolts.

That's awesome, then! What did you use for the floor? Plywood?

X2, That's what I used. With thinner half block to help with sloped yard.
