Chicks or chickens that I keep are raised in the basement until they are old enough/feathered enough to go outside in a chick cage.
I have a bunch due this week, but my mail man is taking all that hatches out except the cochins and banties, I think, though he's considering the banties, too. My cochins that we hatch from our birds will be staying here, as will any ducklings that we hatch, at least for a while.
