what do mites look like

So how do i check for mites and what do they look like. what other "bugs" should i be checking my hens for?

I would think you could do a google image look to get a better idea of what they look like . . .

Each mite type has a different look / color.

There are scally leg mites, there mites that affect the butt area of the bird, etc.
Some are white, some are black, some are red . . .

They can be ANYWHERE including on the roost . . .

MITES are a typical problem and frequently discussed.
If you do a search on BYC forum you can find all the previous discussions
with mites and their treatments. You will get more information that way as opposed to just the responses to this thread.
