My wife a few months ago decided to get some chicks from tractor supply. I already had bout fifteen chickens an four ducks. She got probably bout fifteen give or take. Just recently I have been losing some from that batch. None of my older chickens or the ducks seem effected by it. I've probably lost in past month six of them, sometimes going out daily finding another. I went out today an found two showing symptoms. They just look like crap I feel so bad for them. Pale, wings outward, falling over alot. Then eventually just lay there an have no appetite. Eventually they die. Chickens were in a barn but just recently built a new coop real nice an plenty of room. Dont know if this is stress by moving or some disease.

Welcome to BYC. Treat them for coccidiosis. They may or may not have that, but it's the most common disease that affects chicks, and they get it from the soil and other chickens. Gradual exposure will eventually make them immune, but when you see symptoms of lethargy, puffing up, not eating, ruffled feathers, and diarrhea either with blood or mucus, it probably is coccidiosis. Treat with Corid (amprollium) for 5-7 days in the water. Dosage is 2 tsp of liquid Corid (or 1.5 tsp of powder) per gallon of water for 5-7 days. After treatment give vitamins and probiotics or a little buttermilk or yogurt for probiotics, for 3 days. Corid is in the cattle medicines at the feed store.

I got something one of the workers told me to do I forgot what she thought it was. It was vizax or something started with a v. She told me to wipe it on there faces and there nostrils. Plus put it in drinking water.

I think that's what it is. That's what she told me to get for what she thought it was.

Get the Corid and start treating asap. VetRx will do nothing for your birds, it's basically like humans using a menthol product for a stuffy nose when they have a cold. It may make breathing easier for a bird who has a respiratory disease but it will cure nothing, and I don't think a respiratory problem is what you are dealing with anyway. I agree with Eggcessive, with the symptoms you describe I would suspect coccidiosis.

Alrighty ill try that an give an update if things change. Thanks everybody!
