What do newborn chicks do?

An egg just hatched. The baby chick is chirping and rolling around in the incubator. Is this normal?

Yep that's normal. It's best not to open the incubator until the chick is dry. It will probably roll around all over the incubator, but it is fine. lol

It shouldn't be long before it will be walking. You can do a search on here, maybe type in hatching eggs or incubation. I hatched some for the first time in February. I didn't know anything when I did it. lol

Good luck to you. I hatched mine out in Feb and they just started laying about a week ago at a little over 19 weeks old. Have fun!

I can't remember exactly but it seems like within maybe an hour mine were up walking around real well.
