what do u do about feather mites?

What should you do to treat feather mites? My birds are all healthy, I just want to know. Thanx

Low strength sevin dust is what I use and it works well.

Frontline spray for dogs works great and lasts a long time. Doesn't take much.

The heat from a blow dryer will kill them dead. & the chicky's love being blow dried,believe it or not.....There are very few external parasites that can withstand heat. That's one of the reason's why farmers use to burn their fallow fields every other year.

I used stuff from my local Fleet Farm that is FOR chickens but comparable to Sevin dust. The stuff I used is also half the price. One small dusting is all it took.

I use sevin dust. Repeat in 10 days for any eggs that have hatched.
