ok your white will be a purple bs we under the white.I have a white yearling from purple BS silver pied parents. If it's a male, and I breed it to a purple hen, what percentage will be white, and what percentage purple, or purple BS pied, or purple BS silver pied?
And if it turns out to be a hen, will those figures change, if bred to a purple cock, due to purple being sex linked?
The legs are pretty long, so I'm suspecting it's a male, but I've been surprised before!![]()
All chicks should carry one copy of the we gene, yes? Seeing as the white male would be from silver pied parents (both would carry two copies) hence the offspring should all carry two copies as well.ok your white will be a purple bs we under the white.
this white X purple hen = purple chicks male and females, split white, split bs, and some will be w.e.
because the purple hen is not split no whites,no bs, no pieds

offspring get one gene w.e from the white male but none from the purple hen. reason no bs ,white,or pied, need the hen to carry these genes alsoAll chicks should carry one copy of the we gene, yes? Sorry, I meant that offspring from silver pied parents should all carry two copies. Chicks with the white male as father and the purple hen as mother would carry only one copy of the w.e geneoffspring get one gene w.e from the white male but none from the purple hen. reason no bs ,white,or pied, need the hen to carry these genes also
