the little peachick is flighing like crazy in his pen now i think he is feeling much better they never did that much before will that stuff start working after one day?seem to have much more enegry.is like 100 today debbie took her fan out of her room an put it down with the peachick it was panting pretty good she is such a good little mommy but her rom sure is going to be hot.lol

it sucks because we never had peachicks before so we thought that they were fine before but know after seeing him healthy an flying an running like crazy i relize all the birds we got from him were sluggish an not very active.

Jimmy don't beat yourself up over it..at least you are learning. We all have been there. It takes weeks before they can get sick ,and some people sell them before they even know they are going to get sick.

Can peachicks be raised on the ground...yes just like turkey both are in the wild..but not many are raised, bet its more than half that died.

Check with people who start peachicks and poults on the ground ..you will find they lose some even feeding medicated feed.

I hatch and raised turkey last 2 yrs DIDN'T LOSE EVEN ONE POULT. raised them like i do peachicks. No longer raise those eating machine.

ya debbie has 6 turkeys but is going to be getting rid of them once she gets her peacocks going i told her she had to chose what she wanted an she said peacocks she has 2 narragansetts that she is selling right now about 6 weeks old she has 3 palm very pretty 1 tom 2 hens she is breeding them next spring to pay for her peachick eggs then she will sell the all three for peacock money.an then she has little blue she loves him an said he is not going he follows her around then sits on her shoulder as she feeds an waters all the bird.he is about 6 weeks old she only bought him because he was by himself an at her chicken guys house an felt bad but they are great friends he is a blue slate.she said she will keep him with her chickens.everyone on herehas been very helpful an nice we have learned so much an debbie is very excited about starting to work with peacocks think she will be hooked for life.

could it be heat? or humidity? or no air flow? Those are all factors too... see if they have sade, cool areas, breeze, and not to humid.

no 24 hours after starting meds it was flying around eating real good just looked great also all of the died durring the night when it was cooler.an if they start to pant debbie gets them a fan to cool down with
