When do their spurs start to be visible? and do they at first look like little white spots/bumps? what about crowing? (sorry this is our 1st time with chickens...) thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I have had them start crowing at 6 weeks, or not until 3 months. As far as the bumps or spurs, with Orpingtons not until a year old. The things that I am looking for with yours are the red in the comb and wattles, along with the size of the legs. Are all 8 that large and red?
no, some don't have combs (yet?), although they have wattles that seem redder than the other chicks with combs. Overall body size is about the same. And most of the combs seem mainly yellow but a pinkish red tinge...
