What do we think I have? Hoover Hatchery Dual Purpose Assortment

They look good!

I don't really have any new thoughts about breed or gender at this point.
My guesses:
6 rainbow pullets (4 with brown/white, 2 brown)
3 barred rock pullets
4 barred rock Roos
1 cuckoo marans roo
1 Delaware pullet

(And the 4 black Australorps I got separately)

I ordered 10 assorted breed pullets and 5 assorted breed straight run, so that would make sense.

I’m pretty sure that the browns are just their rainbows or (some other people have some that look JUST LIKE mine that have starlight green eggers, but those weren’t supposed to be an option in my selection)

Fairly sure of the barred rocks- the pullets are much darker than the others, except the one that looks light like the other Roos but still has a yellow comb. I still think roo on that one, but we will see if s/he lays any eggs or the comb reddens up in the next week. 3 for sure barred rock Roos, one maybe.

One I’m pretty certain is a cuckoo marans roo.

Then the white I think is a Delaware pullet.

He’s Getting pretty!

They're about 9-10 weeks old now, right?

Curved tail feathers on an adult rooster make him easy to recognize. But some adult hens, and partly grown chicks of both genders, can have tail feathers that curve a little bit like the ones your bird has. I don't think those tail feathers tell anything about the sex of the chick.

Male chicks often start growing saddle feathers around that age. Saddle feathers grow in front of the tail, and in males are long and slender and pointy. Females have wider feathers with rounded ends in that area, and so do young chicks of both genders. I do not see any male-type saddle feathers, but that could mean female or it could mean that they just haven't grown yet.

Considering the comb, and the lack of male-type saddle feathers, I think that one is likely a pullet, but I wouldn't be quite sure for at least another month or two (because slow-maturing cockerels do sometimes exist.)

Thanks for the reassurance!! I’ve thought pullet this whole time but had second thoughts today. This is one of my faves and I already have 4 definite cockerels, and two more most likely. 😅

Yes, they are 9 1/2 weeks. Will be 10 weeks on Wednesday.

So now that she’s older, what breed sdo we think she is? This one was one of the chicks From Hoover hatchery dual purpose. She looks a lot like a New Hampshire on their photos, so that’s my guess.

I agree that she looks like a New Hampshire.
