What do yall think about carolina coops basic plan

I've only linked part number one
I got halfway thru part 2, great video editing but... Meh on design.
Don't add the 'bird blocking' between trusses.....best place for ventilation.
Huge lack of ventilation all around for Texas...
..not to mention lack of access into coop for handling birds.
They're gonna need a ladder to gather eggs. :D
Other things also left much to be desired...SMH.

I don’t like the Carolina Coops henhouse lay out. While it looks very nice to have the henhouse symmetrical with matching nest boxes on each side and the chicken door smack in the middle of the coop it’s quite impractical. Think about it. The roosts span the length of the henhouse which means your chickens are pooping on the bedding which they have to walk through to lay their eggs. I’m sure owners get lots of poopy eggs. I would prefer one set of nest boxes and the chicken door moved closer to the side of the henhouse with the nest boxes to allow for the roosts to be set up in a way that they will not overhang the path the chickens will take to access the nest box. Plus none of the coop models they offer aside from a custom coop feature a walk in henhouse.

I'm just not into the small raised coops. If I was starting from scratch, I would look into a Woods coop. Plenty of people to help with plans for those around BYC.

Why? Many 'amish' coops I've seen aren't real well designed either.
I said if I had to buy a ready made coop I would get an Amish coop. The reason being almost all their models have walk in henhouses and runs.
Once I have my own property I’ll probably buy a shed and convert it into a henhouse and build a large attached covered run.

The term 'Amish' is overused as a marketing tool(pet peeve of mine-sorry),
both by the actual Amish and non-Amish and be can incredibly misleading.
It's not like the Amish have standard set of designs or quality reqs nationwide.

True. Sorry about that. I’ll try to find out the company that made my friend’s Amish built coop.

Our outbuildings and detatched shop were built by amish. The couple that lived here before us made picture frames for Silver Dollar City and used the outbuildings to store them. They had amish working for them to build and varnish the frames. I think our back deck was built by the amish too. My coop is the converted 15 x 16 back half of our big outbuilding, so I guess you could say my coop is amish built. All that really means to me is all nails, no screws.
